Why do you want to be a school board member?

I desire to be a Board Member in order to provide an unbias view of support to the districts children when it comes to programs & policies. I also desire to support the superintendent as he/she leads the district in a growing & positive direction.

What does education justice mean to you? What does it mean specifically in the context of your school district?

I can not prove you with an in-depth answer at this time.

If you could completely reimagine the way schools look after this public health crisis, what would they look like?

Until our nation learns how to reduce the infection rate of infection, I envision our schools at a consistent hybrid state for a long time.

Describe how you think parents, students, and families should be involved in making decisions within your school district?

I believe that the voices of the Family’s, parents and students should be heard and respected. When the Superintendent and the board makes their decision, both should considers the view of all the stakeholders.

Who (if any) are your top financial supporters for your campaign?

No one.

What are your top 3 educational priorities/goals within your school district?

1: Third grade reading initiatives.
2: Diverse literature in the classroom
3: Aligning the correct teachers in the correct classroom

What are your top 3 educational priorities/goals at a state level?

1:How to we receive funding from the many unfunded State mandates.
2: How can each schools receive equable funding based on its need. this should include the specials needs other high risk programs.
3: How can Michigan collectively improve it test scores especially children entering into the thirds grade.

What challenges do you anticipate this school year to COVID and what do you think your school district must do to keep students & staff safe?

I believe that our challenge would be the required distance that must be kept and the mask wearing of out k-5 grades

What should be your school district’s top spending priorities in their budget? Alternatively, what should not be prioritized your district’s budget?

I believe that more funding should be spent on securing our schools.

What role do you think standardized tests should play in your school district?

I thing that it should be used as a baseline and not as a bases of funding or state shame.

If you could have an impact on your school district’s curriculum , what changes would you make? What, if anything, would you keep the same?

I believe that curriculum should proved a trial period of all programs because they are too expensive and many times is not a good fit for the district.

What responsibility do you believe your school district has in supporting students’ and staffs’ mental and emotional health/wellbeing?

I do believe that the district plays a huge part in the of the whole child. We truly needs some type of Family/School support alliances.

How do you think your school district should handle student discipline/and make schools a safe place for students and staff?

We are practicing the Multi-Tiered System Of Support. I feel that this provides may avenues of redirection

What are your top priorities around special education in your district?

I feel that one of our top priorities with in our district is to provide our stall with a clearer understanding of how we handle special education when it comes to discipline per state mandated requirements.

What is your perspective on working towards achieving equity within your school district?

I due believe that our district has always had a balance if equity. We proved a platform for all groups and individuals to express themselves and also to share their view and beliefs with other group.
