Brief Intro of Candidate

I am a graduate of DPS schools graduating in 1975 from Mumford High School. That's after attending Hampton Junior High and THER Pasteur Elementary School. After graduation from DPS, I became a technology consultant after graduating from Alabama State University in 1979. Currently I am retired from teaching and government work as a programmer analyst, teacher, and political advocate for education and justice.

I would be concerned with parents and community leaders that will help shape policy to improve and maintain the quality of education at DPS

What are your thoughts on how to improve student mental health

I would lobby Lansing in my community for additional policy to a man monitor these children that have to take prescription drugs to maintain their balance.

What are your thoughts on how to ensure that all students and their families, regardless of race, gender identity, sexuality, disability, religion, income status, etc., feel safe and included in your district?

Everybody knows everybody else's history and treats him as one person. Respecting differences and genders and just basically leaving people alone and quit the bullying.

What are your thoughts on how to recruit and retain staff, particularly staff of color, in your district with regard to pay, benefits, and working conditions?

Mandatory classroom sizes of 35 or less with lots of advertising about the awesome teaching opportunities with DPSCD
