Here is some info shared by this candidate regarding working with school community stakeholders:
I feel that school discipline is important and needed. All students need to feel safe in their school environment. SLCS has great SRO's at the middle / high school level and are very helpful in the daily life of the schools they are assigned. The students love them, they typically receive the most applause when introduced at functions. The SRO's genuinely care about the students and want to help them succeed in all aspects. The students can talk with them if they have any kind of concern and know the SRO will help in any way they can. I think restorative practice is a good way to head off potential escalating scenarios. They can also refer up the chain if progress is not being made
